CALCULUSSSSSSSSSS HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP?
if f is a continuous odd function and the lim ( as x approaches -infinite) f(x)= -3, which of the following statements must be true?
I. lim (as x approaches positive infinite) f(x)=3
II. there are no vertical asymptotes
III. the lines y=3 and y= -3 are horizontal asymptotes.
can be more than one, once again sorry about like the symbols for infinite and the limit stuff dont have the symbols.
Odd functions have f(x) = - f(-x) so I is true. And the infinite limit is a horizontal asymptote so III is also true.

Cant Remember Old Horror Movie Help please!!!?
i remember there was a horror movie i saw when i was younger, but cant for the life of me remember the name. Its about these four kids, in their 20’s maybe, that were heading to a place called pot creek. But before they get there, they stop at a hotel to rest for the night. The guy that rents them the room tells them that to the north of them, across a lake is a bunch of people that are like in a cult. After a while, strange things start happening, and people slowly start dying. Most familiar to me is the ending. When two of the kids are driving away after everything is said and done, the killer pops up from the back seat and kills them both. if anyone knows what movie this is, please help. Any answers are appreciated.

child traffickers of Haitian kids?
what do you think about those "Christians"?
What punishment should they get?
turns out, most of those kids were not orphans at all….mmm…this looks suspicious.
I think that they should be tried in Haiti, sentenced to 20 years and serve them in haiti…see if they like it.
They should do hard labor for 20 years.
Desiree | Feb 04, 2010
If they’re selling children as slaves, they get what other traffickers get.
I highly doubt there are any Christians involved.
*********************************
Just looked up the story.
It’s NOT human trafficking, you moron. Children were found alone, adoptive parents were found who wanted them, and the Christian organization made it happen.
For you to call it "human trafficking" is pretty stupid.
Where were you educated, anyway?
Liberal AssKicker | Feb 04, 2010
The same as everyone else who child traffic’s does.
Not Ben | Feb 04, 2010
Not sure, but it depends on their motives. .
A side note to the whole sad thing is that many parents in Haiti are GIVING their children away… begging people to take them and give them a home because they can’t afford to.
Q&A Queen | Feb 04, 2010
I agree.
El Ateo | Feb 04, 2010
they did not obey the law
what ever the penalty is for breaking that law
God's servant | Feb 04, 2010
I’m willing to bet that most of the children’s parents were just trying to get those kids out of haiti where they could be safe- and the Christians were genuinely trying to help. I find it highly doubtful that the Christians would have hurt them anywhere beyond indoctrination.
LIBERAL ASSKICKER: uhhh, last I checked Baptists were Christians.
4NICK8 | Feb 04, 2010
I think they should be tried in Haiti and wait until the jury returns its verdict before pronouncing verdict. Innocent until proven guilty. Or is that a radical notion?
lazybones | Feb 04, 2010
were they really christian? i need evidence.
Ren | Feb 04, 2010
I agree, the "missionaries" should stay at home anyway, what use are they? If they were not there to at best cause trouble, or at worse steal children there was no reason for them to go. They were not attempting to save lives, cloth the naked, or heal the sick.
Rod | Feb 04, 2010
The entire incident should be investigated and if they were trafficing then they should be held to the laws.
I do think it would be appropriate to take into consideration if they were misled or not. If they were led to believe the children were orphans that may be a reason to reduce the sentence.
imrod | Feb 04, 2010
1. We still don’t know the whole story. As with many world stories, I like to hear both sides.
2. Try as they may, those "Christians" don’t even come close to being the big operation that Haiti’s government has. It has been no secret that Haiti’s government has a child black market going on. That’s why people have been so touchy about the subject.
3. They never said that every child was an orphan nor that every child was going to be up for adoption. They pointed out a fact,… that their facilities in the Dominican Republic were much less crowded and that the children had a better chance at getting food, water, and medical supplies.
4. I have yet to see any of the families say "Oh my, they stole my child!". Sure, they were happy to see their children and angry when they were told that their children were "taken". But at the same time, some of the parents seemed to back the story of the churches. Some said that they had sent their children with that group so that they would get food, water, and medical supplies.
5. This whole ordeal may come down to incorrect paperwork. If you take a minor across state lines (a felony in the U.S.) without the proper paperwork, are you automatically kidnapping a child?
I have experience with such an issue in Guatemala, another major corrupt nation. People there have literaly killed Americans for talking to a child (imagine my fear when a stranger asked me to hold her child on a bus once). One woman was held in prison, for her own protection, when she was accused of trying to kidnap children. She was innocent, but the locals overran the jail and beat her into a vegetable. They never cared to listen to her side of the story, not even to the child.
Buddy_Lee_Hombre_de_accion | Feb 04, 2010
They likely truly had the best of intentions, in their own messed up little minds. They were planning on taking care of the children, just as they said. They did, however, have another motive. There is nothing a Christian loves better than the thought of removing a child from a "godless" environment and putting them in 24/7 church, which was exactly their intention, I’m sure. It’s still slimy as hell, but they likely didn’t intend that actual harm come to the children. They were just trying to convert them before they became capable of rational thought. The earlier you expose a child to a given religion the more likely that child will be to remain that religion. They were looking to expand their churches in the area.
By the way, if you actually kept up with this story you would know that NOT ALL children were "found alone". Many were given by their parents with the promise of a better life than the parents could provide. I have read nothing about adoption. They were going to an orphanage.
Kirby | Feb 04, 2010
For some one who is probably sitting in a comfortable chair, in a nice warm home and has a full belly, you sure are quick to pass judgment aren’t you ?? I admit they went about it all the wrong way, but they were only trying to save lives…. I wonder what you, as a parent would do, if a stranger walked up to you, in the same horrible situation, and told you they wanted to take your child to a better place, give it food and shelter, etc… ?? I wonder, if YOU were there, in the midst of the filth, sickness and dying, would you just be able to stand around and do nothing ?? I wonder if you would be able to walk away, climb on the plane and leave those starving babies ?? Hmmm, interesting to think about those things huh ?? go in peace…. God bless
Annie | Feb 04, 2010
they were hardly traffickers and intended only good I feel they should be let off and sent home.
mimjoy | Feb 04, 2010
They should be held under Haitian law since they commited the acts on Haitian soil to Haitian families. They were not there as diplomats.
Martin (atheist) | Feb 04, 2010
You might want to check your facts. CNN interviewed the parents who said they gave their children to this group because they could not provide for the children. These were laypeople from a Baptist church who should not have tried to go down there and attempt something that is complicated even for veteran aid workers and missionaries to do–navigate through a country’s legal system when children are involved.
And you have already condemned them before they even have a trial; do you and the people agreeing with you care about these children or are you just gleeful at the idea of these people going to prison? Since you have condemned them before they were even tried, perhaps "innocent until proven guilty" is not moral code that is important where you come from.
Filida | Feb 04, 2010
You have to admit it’s odd that what little remains of the Haitian Gvmt should focus their law and order priorities against a group of well-meaning, gentle, amiable people.
So the parents want their kids to have a better life by sending them to America by duping these Christians into thinking they’re orphans. And they’re arrested for it???
Madonna did it, she wasn’t arrested, but to call this child trafficking is a gross insult to the real evil that’s out there. Let’s keep this in perspective and use some common sense…
Camelot | Feb 04, 2010
they had a 16 yr old girl with them and didn’t look like a crime ring. maybe charge them with not filing the proper beauracracy. which maybe beauracracy is useful, they wouldn’t have taken the wrong kids and things would have worked smoothly. However immediatly after the earth quake the haitian government was nowhere to be seen. it was up to the haitian people to rebuild and whatever disorganized aid workers. Just the logistics of all these aid workers rushing in. no one knows where to go, what to do. Like at any airport normally competent people don’t know whats happening or what they’re doing. Still it was dumb to try and take kids out of the country with no ones permission. although it’s said they had permission from sometype of authority in DR. Some token punishment but unless they were up to no good i wouldn’t be too harsh. My verdict is 3 months work on haiti restoration. have them out there clearing concrete from roads. they hoped to (I hope rescue) some kids and be back home in indiana feeling good about the haitians they had in the guest house. give them 3 months in haiti, work at an orphanage, take care of some kids there, learn how the business works, it’s punishment and that’ll teach them, living there can’t be much fun now.

Do you know the name of this movie by it's plot?
This has been bugging me forEVER! All I can remember is that there is a couple and one of them dies. Before they die, their spouse sees then drawing this symbol: a curvy cross. The spouse dies and the living one seeks answers for the death. I think the one that died loved butterflies? In the end we find out that the curvy cross isn’t a butterfly or angel, it’s the symbol used on a map to show a river.
It is NOT one of the following:

Why is that you can't download Nancy Drew games from Her Interactive?
I want this game so bad and it’s on sale for $9.99 at herinteractive(for both box and digital download) but when I click the download button the page doesn’t come up. I get a page that says Internet Explorer cannot display the web page.
@Randy- I typed that in and apparently that question has been deleted.
I downloaded on on Saturday and it worked fine. Took a while, but worked fine.
Can you try downloading Mozilla Firefox first? I had to switch a long time ago due to complications with my Internet Explorer, but the Her Interactive page states that it’s sometimes easier to go through Firefox due to IE’s firewalls and the like.
Just make sure to find Her Interactive’s Download Manager and get that before you buy/install the game. It’s free, and it makes the process sooo much easier.
Good luck.
