Do you know the name of this movie by it's plot?
This has been bugging me forEVER! All I can remember is that there is a couple and one of them dies. Before they die, their spouse sees then drawing this symbol: a curvy cross. The spouse dies and the living one seeks answers for the death. I think the one that died loved butterflies? In the end we find out that the curvy cross isn’t a butterfly or angel, it’s the symbol used on a map to show a river.

In the Batman comics, a handful of his enemies know his secret identity as Bruce Wayne. They are Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, Hush, Jason Todd, Hugo Strange and I think the Scarecrow. I have realized something about this pattern: many of these enemies (save for Jason, who trained with Batman as Robin) are criminal geniuses who were able to deduce the connection using logic. Most of the rest, such as the Joker and Two-Face, are too insane to think logically about the connection between Batman and Bruce Wayne. Do you agree with this?

December/21/2012 is not the end of the world. First the Mayan calendar does not end on December 21 2012 it just goes into another period. Also people thought it would be May 2003 but we are still here aren’t we. Also NASA said for a planet or a meteor to hit us in 3 years is impossible (unless god really hates us lol) The world will either in 4 billion years when the sun keeps expanding from nuclear fusion and touching Earth and destroying it. Or a huge asteroid like the one that killed the dinosaurs will hit us in about a couple of billion years… Or maybe you are right and a supernova or a solar flair will destroy the earth…. You will have to wait and see… if you live that long…

It will not end in 2012 because there is no evidence to support it will end, at all. Zero. It’s a story, a fiction of the Mayan people and their calendar.

Our planet will be destroyed (completely or significantly) in one of two ways:

1. When our sun burns through it’s hydrogen fuel in about 5 billion years, it will begin to expand out to about Earth’s orbit. By that time, Earth will be devoid of life, water and everything else. The sun may indeed envelop the planet completely, or if not, will be destroyed when the sun collapses and explodes. This will happen and this WILL be the end of the planet.

2. A very large rock from space hits the planet sufficient to destroy it. This could happen at any time really, and we may not see it coming. The chances are low, but big rocks hit planets all the time.

nothing in sight for about 800 years. there is some question about an object whose orbit may be a threat in about 800 years. i can,t remember what asteroid it was. i will find out. even apophis has been downgraded. i,m not looking for any impacts, but i think there,s a planetary society program to plant a transponder on apophis to accurately track its approach to earth. they,ve even had a design for a number of spacecraft for this project. i don,t worry about 2012. i saw, and enjoyed the movie. the 50,s sci fi flick"when worlds collide" is actually more scientifically accurate by far than "2012". it,s dated, but still an excellent movie.

What do you think about hotels not having a thirteenth floor?
i mean i was staying at a hotel about a week ago ( i was doing a pageant) and i was with some friends i made and while we were in the elevator they were telling me about the thirteenth floor and the top floor aren’t real there just hallways or it skips the number while your going up do they not have a 13th floor because murderers might go in the hotel and murder people ON the 13th floor?

It is due to superstition. In 1823, a hotel had 13 floors. They believed it was the number that was strange and was causing this:

The lights kept turning on if they are on, there were sightings of little pitch black shadows, fans would turn on, windows would shut. Reported by someof the people on the twelfth floor there were a lot of footsteps on the floor above them. The fourteenth reported there were people pounding on the ceiling in the thirteenth floor. Nobody could reach the ceiling. And the floor was to seperate sounds, nothing could travel threw it. Something strange was happening. They believed the number ‘13′ was the cause for this. Not all hotels are superstitous anymore but still some are. Yes, their is a place in Orlando, Florida not in Crown Plaza but one called River Seats is the one that was doing this. Oh yeah, another report back then, all the bibles from all the rooms were thrown out in the hall, people found out in the morning. I do not believe it was the 13 number. But I believe it was a ghost on the 13th floor. I know there are places like that. I have been in River Seats before. The 13th floor is no forbidden. They still have the hotel up though. I once secretly snuck on the 13th floor late at night. It acted up a little. Like a toilet flushed is all. But even that just made me get the hell out of that hotel. It usually acts up when there is someone in there. Yeah, scary. During that time, people kept leaving without excuses and never came back to that hotel at all. Just people on the 13th floor.

The reason why thirteen became such an "unlucky" number was because on friday the thirteen in 1307 the Knights Templar Grand Masters were burned at the stake. Many think the number thirteen is unlucky an number when it is just a powerful number.

How he died was because he was plagued in his dreams where he saw himself die and so his mother Frigg asked for an oath from every living things that they would not harm Baldur. She did not take an oath from mistle toe because she thought it was to young. Well, the floor that comes after the 12th is the 13th floor no matter what you call it.
It’s because people are stupid.
Not about murderers. Any murderer with half a brain wouldn’t go somewhere predictable. They’d pick a place and time that would be to their advantage. They don’t care about numbers. This isn’t a cartoon. This is life.
They do it because there are "superstitious" people who don’t want to stay on the thirteenth floor. But they’re staying on the thirteenth floor if it’s the one after the twelfth, whether they call it 13th, 14th, or banana hammockth floor.

In some countries, the number 13 is considered unlucky. So hotel owners will sometimes omit a floor that is numbered 13. Hence, the 13th floor is often labeled with the number 14.

They do this because if a superstitious guests is assigned a room on the 13th floor, he/she might complain, or asked to be moved to another floor.
