How does a bohemian/nomadic/hippie lifestyle work?
I’m curious to know how back in the 60’s they got gas money for those big colored buses? What did they eat? Where’d they get money for that? Insurance for their volkswagens? Driver’s licenses? How did they eat?

Governments more or less make it illegal to be a nomad these days (which I think is really f*cked up). For example, I had this great idea of buying a motorcycle and traveling the world buy bike but you need insurance for the bike, driver’s permit then license, road tax, international driving permit, etc.

Please give me a detailed answer of how the nomadic/bohemian lifestyle worked/works. Thanks.

Find an occupation that allows you to work and live overseas…try teaching English to speakers of other languages…that’s what I have done, …I am in China at the moment, I work around 20 hours a week and live very comfortably. I also get plenty of free time (holidays) to travel if I wish. I have job offers in Indonesia, Vietnam and can also get work in Europe without any problems as I have a British /European Union passport. You do not need to be a college/university graduate to teach English in a lot of these countries, however, you will probably need a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate, which is easy to acquire, just a short course and off you go, around the world, living your dream of the nomadic lifestyle…it can be done, what I have just told you is only one way, there are others of course, but they are perhaps, merely ‘pipedreams’,.. like for instance, becoming a rock and roll superstar!

it’s done somewhat differently depending on whether you are traveling in a smaller or larger group, what sort of vehicle you have, or whether you’re hitchhiking. when you’re on the road, you usually stop to gather money and resources when necessary. it’s either done by finding work (sometimes by going to day-labor agencies), by ’spare-changing’, by ‘busking’ (playing music or some other kind of entertaining for donations), or by making and selling crafts like jewelry or leatherwork or so on. also common is ‘flying a sign’. you may have seen this, people will make a cardboard sign saying something like ‘traveling, broke’ or ‘anything helps’ or ‘family murdered by clan of ninjas, need money for kung fu lessons :). it’s actually astonishing how much money you can collect in how little time by these methods. also there’s ‘gas-jugging’ where you simply park at or near a gas station and fly a sign ‘out of gas’ or even politely approach folks with the jug. especially if you’re traveling in a bus or other obvious hippie vehicle, a lot of times people are so interested and entertained to see you that they’ll be glad to help you out. most travelers don’t stay on the road year-round, although some do. most have a place or places we go back to where we have connections and can save up money for the next season’s travel. these days, in the US at least, most ‘traveling hippie’ types are connected with the rainbow family of living light. when you’re on the road, frequently you are coming from or going to a rainbow gathering. check out www.welcomehere.org for more on that. governments don’t make it illegal, just difficult. trouble with the law is common, but as long as you handle it right it doesn’t amount to anything, just an annoyance, really. myself, for example, i’ve had to deal with every sort of cop and fed you can imagine, dozens of times, but i’ve managed to never be arrested, and the one time they tried to fine me, for ‘illegal occupation of USDA property’ i got the ticket thrown out…

Hippies were a lifestyle all to themselves. Many were members of communes which produced craft type items for sale, and art markets showed up in many areas where there were concentrations of hippies and social acceptance to some extent, like Santa Barbara, California.. The communes also produced produce which was both consumed and sold.

There were only a few of the buses that you mention, most travel was done on foot or by hitchhiking. If you had a vehicle, you were accountable and were able to be tracked. You have to remember that the Vietnam war was hot and heavy and many hippies were draft dodgers who did not want to be found.

barrel horse names for thoroughbred?
I have a chestnut throughbred with socks on his hind legs and a stripe on his face… i need help with show names… when he raced on the track his name was the hankster his barn name was hank but has been changed to buckshot… any ideas?
also he doesnt answer to either name… i whistle and he comes… i just need a name to show under

If he answers best to Buckshot, or Hank, I would just keep whatever name he responds to. If you keep changing his name, he will be so confused he won’t know what to respond to. Personally, I think Hank is just perfect. Short names are easy for them to recognize and remember better. Just some food for thought.

How long before the UN gets hold of the nukes in pakistan citing "failed state and hostile government"?
now that america is operating deep from inside of pakistan and funding both the pro islamic and the anti islamic groups to reek havoc in the country in order to get the nuke bombs out of pakistan. knowing the american intention of removing the nukes other countries of the world are already sending their spies and ex military men to pakistan on mass to sniff out any realistic chances of sneakily smuggle out a nuke in the event of an all out civil war which the americans are working at it.
many south american and african countries have recently set up diplomatic and trade relationships with the aim of getting their hands on some sort of atomic bomb or expertise. there are many asian counties who have previous trade and diplomatic with pakistan but are outfavoured for more rich and wealthy courntries of south america and africa.
if the UN does get hold of the nukes then where will they keep lethals?
